Sophomore Emily Gilliam faced 9 batters in the 23-0 run rule win over Everman on Tuesday night and not one of them reached 1st base. Only 2 of them put the ball in play and her defense stuck behind her to make those two plays to keep her Perfect Game with the other 7 striking out.

The offense was patient and disciplined working Everman pitching to 11 walks. Presley Green, Kendall Miller, Sam Barker, Kylie Barnes and Madison Thurman all hit doubles. Laney Vaughn and Bailey Ford each roped triples.

The Spartans head to Wylie Thursday-Saturday for the Tana Jo Thomason Memorial Tournament. Thursday the Spartans face the host Wylie and Mesquite Horn. Friday they will play Sulphur Springs and North Mequite, then on Saturday they will finish up with McKinney Boyd and Little Elm.

The next district game is Tuesday at Granbury.
