Middle School Night Equals Spartans Win

Friday night at Spartan Arena, the Spartans of Centennial High School came out victors with a tough road win versus a gritty and tough Granbury Pirate team. The Spartans with the win move their overall record to 24-5, tied for the program record for wins in a season, and remains in 1st place of District 5-5A with an 8-1 record.

On a night where the Spartans celebrated it’s Middle School teams from Kerr Middle School (Burleson, TX), where the 7th Grade Boys have an overall program record of (24-8) and the 8th Grade Boys with an overall program record of (22-3). Those young men have been working hard  and finding ways to compete and win in their district.

And as for the Spartans, they were able to withstand the early 1st Quarter push by the Pirates, being down 21-15 at the end of the quarter. The Spartans settled in and quickly gained control of the game with an incredible 20-6 run. With contributions from several members off the bench, the Spartans never looked back as they raced out to a 17-point lead before Granbury fought back and finished the game 77-66.

The Spartans move on to face Mansfield Timberview on Tuesday night, February 4th at 7:00p at Timberview High School.
