Senior Salute – #41 Jacob Stuckey
– October 9th, 2019
We are 3-weeks out from the start of the 2019-2020 basketball season and the 1st official practice (October 30th). The Spartan Hoops basketball program will be spotlighting and celebrating it’s 7-senior members each week leading up to the start of the season.
Week 6 of our Senior Salutes, we would like to introduce you to SR – Jacob “Stuck” Stuckey. Stuck is the son of Jay and Natalie Stuckey of Mansfield, TX. and is a young man that has been a 4-Year Varsity Letterman for Centennial High School and a member of the Spartan Golf Team. Stuck is one of several Spartan Seniors who are program kids, having grown up in the Spartan Hoops system from his time shining as a prominent member of those talented Kerr Middle School teams to this being his 4th year on the Spartan Varsity and 2nd straight as a starter.
Jacob is a 6’8 forward who has a sweet soft shooting touch with arch and a shot release that grazes the rafters before it hits the bottoms of nets. His style of play is very reminiscent of his favorite player (Dirk Nowitzki). He is athletic, long, smart and growing in his aggression.
This last season saw Jacob earn 1st Team All District and All Johnson County teams. Stuck, was named to the All-Tournament team at the Byron Johnston Holiday Classic Tournament in Midland, TX. His high level of play during his Junior Season has garnered him some much deserved attention from many media outlets and has caught the attention of many universities such as Nebraska Wesleyan, College of the Ozarks, Oklahoma Central, UIW, and Southwestern.
This 2019-2020 Senior Season for Jacob is bound to be one that will see his continued upward growth as his confidence and roles are enhanced. The sky is the limit for the levels of success that Jacob will help lead this year’s Spartan basketball team to.
