Senior Salute: #5 – Marek Kerr
– September 9th, 2019
We are 6-weeks out from the start of the 2019-2020 basketball season and the 1st official practice (October 30th). The Spartan Hoops basketball program will be spotlighting and celebrating it’s 7-senior members each week leading up to the start of the season.
In week 2, we would like to introduce #5 – William “Marek” Kerr aka Mare(Kat). Marek is the son of Marcus and Dr. Marcel Kerr of Burleson, TX. Marek has worked his way thru the Centennial Spartan Basketball Program from being a prominent member of very talented teams in 7th and 8th grade at Kerr Middle School, to a swing-guy between the Varsity and JV teams last season, to his Senior year where he will be expected to take on a much more prominent role, utilizing his length and athleticism.
Marek is of the very quiet nature, but he has athleticism that screams and rings throughout gyms. He is without a doubt the most powerful dunker we have in the program and the most effortless jumper. His calm and stoic demeanor aids in the settling of his teammates but, his dunks or insane almost dunks sends his teammates into raucous tizzies.
Marek Kerr is not just an athlete, he epitomizes the term, Student Athlete. He currently holds the teams highest GPA amongst the varsity members with a 4.13 and sits inside the Top 10% of his graduating class of 2020.
His quiet confidence and unselfish, business-like approach to practice, helped steer our 2018-2019 team to set program marks of Wins in a Season (24) and helped set the table for playoff success.
We are expecting even more from Marek this year as we hope to unleash him on the state of Texas this coming season.
