Spartan Hoops Alum – Zach Elliott (ETBU)
This morning on the campus of University of Texas – Dallas in Richardson, TX is the start of the American Southwest Conference tournament. The ASC Conference tournament will showcase some of the countries best at the NCAA Division-3 level, from teams such as Concordia (Austin, TX) to Sul Ross State (Alpine, TX).
But one school that hosts one name that we at Centennial High School and the Spartans Hoops Basketball Program know really well is East Texas Baptist University (ETBU) center – Zach Elliott.
Zach Elliot is a 6’9 Freshman Center who combed the hallways of Centennial High School and rocked some rims in Spartan Arena and swatted quite a few shots while donning the Spartan Shield and Uniform.
Zach is enjoying a very positive freshman season with the Tigers of ETBU as he is currently averaging 4-points, 3-rebounds, and 1-block per game in 12-minutes of playing time per game and shooting over 50% from the field, according to the ETBU Basketball website.
He has had some career highs in the following areas:
- Points: 16 at Hendrix (11/20/18)
- Assists: 5 at Texas Dallas (1/10/19)
- Rebounds: 9 vs. Belhaven (1/19/19)
- Blocks: 3 vs. Belhaven (1/19/19)
Zach and the ETBU Tigers take on the Crusaders of Mary-Hardin Baylor this afternoon at 2:30pm. For those in Spartan Nation who cannot get out to UT-Dallas (Richardson, TX) to see Zach and the ETBU Tigers, you can view it online at the HERE.
Zach, Spartan Hoops and Spartan Nation is very proud of you and wish you and your team the best of luck! GO TIGERS! SPARTAN FOREVER!
