The boys basketball freshman A team hosted Arlington Seguin Tuesday night in a district match-up.
Both teams traded baskets in the beginning of the game with the Spartans taking a 14-11 lead going into the second quarter of play. With Centennial attacking the basket and converting on their free-throws and showcasing some stingy defense they were able to hold the Cougars to 4 points in the quarter and take a 11 point lead at the half. Cedric Cotton paced the offense in the third quarter with 7 points and kept the Centennial momentum rolling for the remainder of the game. The Spartans finished the game strong and came away with a 48-36 win over Seguin.
Cotton lead all scorers with 19 points while Bailey Sosebee contributed with 11 points. The freshman A squad will host Everman High School on Tuesday, January 22nd at 8:30 pm in the Spartan practice gym.
