Bolf Breaks Rebound Record
After suffering a tough loss in last nights opener of the Northeast Lions Invitational Tournament, hosted by Birdville ISD, to Birdville High School 62 – 72, the Spartans responded with a good hard fought win over Keller Fossil Ridge 69 – 66, moving the Spartans to (4-2) Overall Record.
Though the win this afternoon was a good one and much needed, the highlight of the day was knowing that Junior – Zachary Bolf broke the school rebounding record of 19 rebounds in a game, previously held by Curtis Amos in 2014 versus Waco High. Zach takes his place in the Centennial Spartan Basketball record books with a new single game rebounding record with 20 rebounds.
Zach added to his rebound record also with an 11/13 shooting and a game 25 points as well. His unselfish and team centered personality, he did not care about the record, “I don’t care about that record, its just going to get broken, we need to play better.” – Zach Bolf.
It is safe to say that the Spartans will be playing better going forward with this type of leadership provided by Bolf.
The Centennial Spartans basketball program is back in action tomorrow morning playing for the Consolation Championship of the Northeast Lions Invitational Tournament at 10:30a.
*Opponent is yet to be determined but will be the winner of Dallas Molina HS or Heights Prep HS.
