Spartans News · Softball Starts District Play

Last night Centennial Softball started District play vs. Crowley after only playing two tournament games and 3 pool games. Usually at this point they have 6-12 games under their belt. Due to the rain the 8th Annual Black and Blue Tournament was rained out last weekend and the 3rd day of the Mansfield Tournament was rained out as well.

It took an inning to get the bats going only scoring one run in the 1st inning they scored 6 in the second and went on to score 12 additional runs over the last 3 innings. The final score was 19-3.

Spartans have great leadership from seniors Reagan Ellison, Gracie Morton and Mac Harshbarger. The seniors know how to win and look to continue the winning tradition and earn another District Championship.

This weekend the Spartans will take to the road and play in the Wylie Tournament. They will run into some great competition there. The schedule is as follows: Thursday 1pm vs South Grand Prairie, 7pm vs McKinney Boyd, Friday 11am vs Rockwall, 3pm Wylie, Saturday 9am vs Frenship 1pm vs Sulphur Springs.

While Varsity is competing in Wylie, Junior Varsity will be in Glen Rose Thursday and Saturday for their JV Tournament.
